The development of acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) during pregnancy is a rare but often catastrophic event, and no consensus has been reached regarding the optimal treatment. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of cesarean section surgery before aortic repair. The mean gestational period at the time of aortic repair was 35.3 ± 2.7 weeks, and the aortic root diameter ranged from 40 to 60 mm. The study suggested that ATAAD repair can be safely performed in the third trimester.
