Parasacral transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation versus urotherapy in primary monosymptomatic enuresis: A prospective randomized clinical trial

This prospective clinical trial evaluated the clinical response of parasacral transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation (parasacral TENS) combined with urotherapy in children with primary monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis (PMNE). The study included 72 children aged over 5 years, randomly divided into two groups: a control group receiving urotherapy and scapular stimulation, and an experimental group receiving urotherapy and parasacral TENS. The percentage of dry nights was assessed at different time points. The results showed that parasacral TENS combined with urotherapy improved the percentage of dry nights in children with PMNE, although complete resolution of symptoms was not achieved.
