Parental Stress Tied to Early PCS in Childhood Concussion

In 38 young children (median age 1.3 years), injury-related parental stress within 72 hours post-concussion was moderately associated with more and worse post-concussion symptoms (PCS), but not with recovery at one month. While PCS scores improved over time, parental stress remained unchanged. These findings suggest early parental stress influences symptom presentation but not long-term outcomes.
