Patient-reported outcomes before treatment for localized prostate cancer

A study analyzed Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) in men diagnosed with localized prostate cancer. The study encompassed seven countries, including Australia/New Zealand, Canada, and the United States, comparing the EPIC-26 domain scores and treatment patterns. Surprisingly, despite varying healthcare systems and cultural differences, patients showed negligible differences in PROs before treatments such as radical prostatectomy and brachytherapy. The sexual domain exhibited the most disparity among countries, emphasizing the importance of measuring PROs at diagnosis.
