Psoriasis is a disease that causes scaly patches of skin that can cover large areas of the body, including the scalp, hands and feet, as well as affecting nails. The study found that in patients weighing 90 kg or more one dose of secukinumab every 2 weeks worked better than one dose of secukinumab every 4 weeks. In addition, significantly more patients achieved clear or almost clear skin and a complete normalization of their quality of life with more frequent dosing. Overall, the option of more frequent dosing of secukinumab in heavier patients should help ensure patients receive treatment that is tailored to them and help meet their treatment goals. The authors of this study were from Europe and the USA.
