The combination of pembrolizumab and axitinib is a potential treatment option for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma who have received previous lines of therapy. A study of 38 patients found a median progression-free survival of 9.7 months and an overall response rate of 25%. The treatment was administered as a second-line therapy in 55.5% of patients.
