Pembrolizumab, combined with chemotherapy or radiotherapy, has demonstrated long-term effectiveness in treating locally advanced or metastatic esophagal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), according to a real-world study. The study enrolled 55 patients with advanced ESCC. Key findings include a median overall survival rate not yet reached, 78.8% 12-month and 72.7% 18-month survival rates. Responders to treatment had better prognoses, and immune maintenance therapy was administered to 36% of patients. The treatment appeared safe with manageable long-term adverse effects.
