
A study evaluated sepsis screening tools during delivery admissions. Using data from 59 hospitals, patients with sepsis were matched with controls. The CMQCC and UKOSS criteria showed the lowest false-positive rates and highest C-statistics, with over 90% sensitivity. However, the performance of screening tools declined in cases of chorioamnionitis–endometritis. Cohort 1 included 647 sepsis patients, while cohort 2 comprised 14,591 with chorioamnionitis–endometritis. Despite high false-positive rates in all tools, CMQCC and UKOSS performed better. The study highlights that CMQCC and UKOSS criteria are effective in sepsis screening during delivery, maintaining high sensitivity and low false-positive rates.
