The study aimed to compare subjective assessment and the ADNEX model in distinguishing between benign and malignant adnexal tumors, as well as between metastatic and primary ovarian tumors in patients with a personal history of breast cancer. The researchers conducted a retrospective study on patients who underwent surgery for an adnexal mass, analyzing ultrasound reports and using histology as the reference standard. The results showed that both subjective assessment and the ADNEX model had similar accuracy and specificity in distinguishing between benign and malignant tumors. However, sensitivity was low in differentiating metastatic and primary tumors for both methods.
