A personalised eHealth programme has been found to significantly reduce the recovery time for patients after major abdominal surgery. In a study conducted at 11 teaching hospitals in the Netherlands, participants were randomly assigned to either an intervention group with access to the eHealth programme or a control group receiving standard care. The intervention group had personalized tools and guidance through an activity tracker, website, and mobile app. The study found that patients in the intervention group returned to normal activities 13 days earlier than those in the control group. The eHealth programme showed promising results in improving postoperative recovery after abdominal surgery.
