This study has characterized the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of once-weekly insulin icodec in individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2D). The findings suggest that this innovative insulin regimen holds promise for managing T2D more effectively. The study involved 46 T2D patients who received subcutaneous once-weekly Icodec for over 8 weeks, with individualized doses aimed at maintaining target glucose levels. Model predictions showed that icodec's glucose-lowering effect was consistent throughout the dosing interval, with a duration of action lasting at least one week in all participants. Importantly, the trial found that once-weekly Icodec was well tolerated and safe.
