This trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of pirtobrutinib, a noncovalent BTK inhibitor, in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) who had previously failed covalent BTK inhibitor treatment. Among the 247 patients who had received a BTK inhibitor, the overall response rate to pirtobrutinib was 73.3%, and the median progression-free survival was 19.6 months. The most common adverse events observed were infections, bleeding, and neutropenia. The trial showed that pirtobrutinib is effective and generally well-tolerated in heavily pretreated CLL or SLL patients, providing a potential new therapeutic option.

Blocking miR-30e-5p reduced atherosclerosis in obese and atherosclerotic mice, highlighting a potential therapeutic pathway.

Varenicline increased tear production but needs further comparative validation.
