A study examined the safety and efficacy of PEX168, a novel glucagon-like peptide-I receptor agonist, in type 2 diabetic patients. Developed with a modified chemical structure from exenatide, PEX168 offers promise as a treatment option for patients who can't tolerate metformin or lack metformin control. The study finds that PEX168, both as monotherapy and combined with metformin, can improve glycemic control and weight management in obese diabetic patients.
