This study investigates the impact of polypharmacy on β-amyloid (Aβ) fibril formation in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Analysis of medications in elderly patients revealed high polypharmacy rates, with drugs like vitamin D, Levothyroxine, Prilosec, Flomax, and Norvasc reducing Aβ fibril formation. These drugs, containing polyphenolic components, may function as inhibitors of Aβ fibrillation, suggesting potential therapeutic benefits for Alzheimer's-related pathology.
