Posture and Behavioral Interventions Aid Fetal Head Positioning in Labor

A randomized clinical trial conducted in 2022 examined the effects of maternal posture and cognitive-behavioral interventions on labor outcomes for primigravidas with fetal head malposition. In the study, 136 primigravidas were divided into four groups: Group A (traditional perinatal care), Group B (posture management), Group C (posture management with music therapy), and Group D (posture management with video education). The intervention groups (B, C, D) exhibited significantly lower cesarean section rates (5.7%, 2.9%, 3.0% vs. 20.6%, p<0.05) and higher fetal position correction rates at full cervical dilation (66.7%, 63.6%, 68.8% vs. 27.6%, p<0.05) compared to Group A. Anxiety levels were also lower in the intervention groups, although labor duration and neonatal outcomes showed no significant differences.
