A prediction model identifies women with COPD in their last year of life. Using data from 1236 women, six predictors were selected, including smoking status, BMI, and hospital admissions. The model performed well with an AUROC of 0.82 and demonstrated good calibration. At a 56.6% risk cutoff, it achieved 72.3% sensitivity and 77.7% specificity. This model can aid timely palliative care referrals but needs external validation.
