A study conducted in Southwest China aimed to understand the prevalence and factors associated with Fear of Progression (FoP) in children with cancer. The research involved 102 pediatric cancer patients from a Children's Hospital in Chongqing. The children's FoP was assessed using a Chinese version of the Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form. The study found that 43.75% of the children had a high level of FoP. Regression analysis revealed that children with reproductive system tumors and higher psychological care needs were more likely to experience FoP. These findings highlight the importance of addressing FoP in pediatric cancer patients, particularly those with reproductive tumors and additional psychological support requirements, to enhance their quality of life.
