
This study investigated the prevalence, clinical characteristics, and outcomes of patients with mitral regurgitation (MR) and tricuspid regurgitation (TR) across the heart failure (HF) spectrum. HF with reduced ejection fraction had a lower risk of isolated MR and combined MR/TR, while HF with preserved ejection fraction had a lower risk of isolated MR but an increased risk of isolated TR. All-cause death, cardiovascular death, HF hospitalization, and combined outcomes were more frequent in patients with MR/TR, isolated TR, and isolated MR than those without MR/TR. Isolated TR had particularly high incident rates and poor outcomes, driven by HF with preserved ejection fraction.
