Prevalence, lifestyle, and risk factors of erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and low libido in middle‐aged men

Erectile dysfunction (ED), premature ejaculation (PE), and low libido (LL) are widespread among middle-aged men. A study involving 2,500 50-year-old men revealed a 30% prevalence of at least one sexual dysfunction, with 21% reporting ED, 5.2% experiencing PE, and 7.2% dealing with LL. Risk factors included interplay between these dysfunctions, higher waist circumference, lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), depression, and self-rated health. On a positive note, partnership and physical activity were associated with lower risks. These findings emphasize the need for patient education on modifiable risk factors to improve male sexual health.
