This scoping review aimed to summarize studies that evaluated recovery from hearing loss, recurrence and/or fluctuation of hearing loss, and progression to Meniere's Disease of patients with acute low-tone hearing loss without vertigo. The majority of patients experience hearing improvement, but recurrence and/or fluctuation are common, and progression to Meniere's Disease occurs in a small proportion of patients. Standardized inclusion and outcome criteria are needed for future trials to determine the best treatment for this condition.
