
MRONJ alters key bone protein expression. This study examined collagen 1, RUNX2, and RANKL in alveolar bone cells (OLAB) affected by MRONJ. Immunohistochemistry and in vitro analyses showed that denosumab reduced collagen 1, while zoledronate decreased RUNX2. RANKL remained unaffected. A novel OLAB cell lineage was established, aiding future research. Further studies on bone scaffolds, biofilms, and additional cell types are needed to fully understand MRONJ mechanisms.
