PRP Injections Show No Benefit in Erectile Dysfunction Treatment

A study involving 52 participants with mild-to-moderate erectile dysfunction (ED) evaluated the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. Participants were divided into two groups: one receiving PRP injections and the other saline. Results showed no significant difference in erectile function between the groups over six months, as measured by the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF). At the 1-month mark, the PRP group had an IIEF score of 16.12 ± 1.25 versus 15.99 ± 1.21 in the placebo group (p = 0.683). Similarly, at 3 and 6 months, no statistical difference was observed. The study concluded that PRP injections offer no significant benefit for treating mild-to-moderate ED.
