A study examined racial disparities in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) among premature infants. Surprisingly, despite lower birth weights and gestational ages, Black infants showed lower incidence rates of severe Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and disease than White and Asian infants. Daily weight gain, however, dipped for Black and Asian infants after day 30. This groundbreaking research sheds light on racial disparities in ROP
