A study assessed the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) in treating hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). Analyzing 470 patients (34.6% female, mean age 43.7-60.7 years), the study found significant improvements post-RFCA. The left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) gradient decreased notably at rest and during stimulation. Additionally, interventricular septum (IVS) thickness was reduced, and the New York Heart Association (NYHA) class improved. These findings suggest RFCA as a promising therapeutic option for HOCM, showing significant reductions in LVOT gradient and IVS thickness, along with enhanced NYHA class.
