RAIUR and RAKAT offer effective solutions for long ureteric strictures. Both improve renal function and have similar high-grade complication rates (13% vs. 10%). RAIUR had a shorter surgical time (290 vs. 355 min, p = 0.008) but higher overall complications (73% vs. 31%, p = 0.01). RAKAT patients had shorter hospital stays (5 vs. 8 days, p = 0.001). Patient factors and surgeon expertise should guide technique selection.
