In the systematic review of 54 studies (n=2857), Ramadan fasting significantly reduced weight, BMI, waist/hip circumference, and body fat by the third and fourth weeks of fasting. These changes peaked shortly after Ramadan but reversed in the following weeks. Fat-free mass and total body water remained stable. The findings highlight the transient effects of Ramadan fasting on healthy adults' body composition.
