Real-World Study Highlights Risk of HF After a Heart Attack

Patients who survive a heart attack face a higher risk of heart failure (HF) within a year, increasing their chances of hospitalization or death. Over 6,804 patients analyzed, 1,578 developed new-onset HF post-MI, with HFpEF being common. Notably, the risk of HF surpassed that of recurrent MI, emphasizing the need for post-MI HF research and therapies. The study emphasized the need for targeted therapies to curb HF risk post-heart attack.
