
A non-interventional retrospective study in 15 sites evaluated teriflunomide, an oral immunomodulatory agent for relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), and showed promising outcomes. Of the 776 patients, two-thirds had prior treatment, predominantly beta-interferons or glatiramer acetate. After 24 months, teriflunomide significantly reduced the annualized relapse rate by 72%, with 81.8% relapse-free patients. Radiological improvements and stable disability were observed. Adverse events, reported by half the patients, aligned with previous findings. Teriflunomide discontinuation reasons included lack of effectiveness, adverse events, and pregnancy desire. The study supports teriflunomide's efficacy and safety in real-world RRMS management.
