This retrospective cohort study assessed the real-world effectiveness of mepolizumab, an anti-interleukin-5 monoclonal antibody, in US patients with severe asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) with or without sinus surgery. The study analyzed administrative claims data and found that mepolizumab reduced the use of systemic and oral corticosteroids and resulted in lower asthma exacerbation rates. Patients with severe asthma, CRS, and sinus surgery experienced the most significant improvements. The study concludes that mepolizumab provides benefits to patients with severe asthma and comorbid CRS, aligning with previous trial data.
