This study aimed to determine the prevalence of myopia and hyperopia among schoolchildren in Shahroud and their risk factors. The results showed that the prevalence of myopia was 5.0%, and the prevalence of hyperopia was 4.8% in all students. The findings showed that factors such as living in rural areas, axial length, sex and age, and outdoor activity hours were associated with myopia and hyperopia. The results indicated that axial length had the largest direct effect on myopia and hyperopia, while other factors had weak associations.
