Regenerative Medicine Advances in Joint Tissue Repair and Repair Mechanisms

Regenerative medicine holds promise for repairing damaged articular cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and entheses, commonly affected by trauma, degeneration, and inflammation in rheumatic diseases. While traditional approaches use exogenous cells, activating endogenous repair mechanisms presents an exciting alternative. Advances in developmental biology and single-cell technologies are advancing our understanding of stem and progenitor cells in joint tissue repair. This knowledge will guide the development of pro-regenerative drugs for clinical musculoskeletal applications.
