Children aged 5 and above are at higher risk for Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) linked to COVID-19, reports CDC. Vaccination aids in preventing MIS-C. India's DCGI approves domestic vaccines for under-12s due to a slight COVID-19 case rise. Corbevax (5-12 age) and Covaxin (6-12 age) get the nod, while ZyCoV-D is cleared for 12+ age. Corbevax is India's first protein subunit vaccine, and ZyCoV-D uses DNA plasmids via a needle-free injector. Over 80% of adults are fully vaccinated. India also initiated booster shots and expanded the vaccine campaign.
