Remdesivir appears to make a big difference in Japanese patients with COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked an explosion in clinical research that has resulted in the creation of numerous vaccinations and therapies, though the effectiveness of some of them is still debatable. According to new research from Japan, remdesivir, a medicine whose efficacy has been disputed, appears to have a significant impact on Japanese COVID-19 patients who received corticosteroids in the ICU. The medical records of 168 COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized to the ICU at TMDU Hospital between April 2020 and November 2021 were examined by the researchers. Depending on whether they had also had remdesivir treatment, the patients were separated into different groups.
