This study investigated the occurrence of retinal vascular occlusions in patients with Behçet disease (BD). Results showed that both groups had similar systemic manifestations, but anterior uveitis was more common in non-occlusive eyes. Non-occlusive retinal vasculitis and ocular complications were more common in occlusive eyes, with a worse mean best-corrected visual acuity throughout follow-up. The risk factors for retinal vascular occlusions were male sex and Jewish ethnicity. In conclusion, retinal vascular occlusions were found in a third of ocular BD patients and were associated with a worse prognosis.
