Retrospective First‐in‐human use of the LithoVue™ Elite Ureteroscope to measure Intrarenal Pressure

A groundbreaking study on intrarenal pressure (IRP) in ureteroscopy, a previously understudied area due to measurement challenges, has been conducted using the LithoVue Elite™ ureteroscope. A retrospective analysis of 50 patients from April 2022 to February 2023 examined IRP during ureteroscopic lithotripsy. The study revealed that the median IRP was 28.5 mmHg, with a maximum of 174 mmHg. Notably, Asian ethnicity, smaller ureteral access sheath (UAS) size (10/12 Fr), and tight ureters were associated with higher IRPs. These findings shed light on factors influencing IRP and its implications in ureteroscopy outcomes.
