Risk analysis in diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) is crucial due to their global health burdens. Few studies in mainland China have explored this association. Using retrospective cohort data from Quzhou City and Zhejiang Province, this study investigated the link between prediabetes, diabetes, and CVD onset. Analyzing 138,970 participants over 5.8 years, it found higher CVD risks in prediabetes (14% increase) and diabetes patients (68% increase) compared to normal individuals. Sensitivity analyses confirmed these associations, highlighting the importance of early intervention for diabetes prevention and CVD risk management.
