The study evaluates risk factors for Dacron-cuffed catheter-related infections (CRI) in hemodialysis patients. Meta-analysis of 13 studies involving 625 patients identifies several significant risk factors, including diabetes, low haemoglobin, older age, longer catheter indwelling time, low serum albumin, femoral vein catheterization, and multiple catheter placements. Findings suggest that patients with diabetes, lower haemoglobin, older age, longer catheterization duration, lower serum albumin, femoral vein catheter, or multiple catheters are at higher risk of CRI during hemodialysis.
