This cross-sectional study analyzed 667 patients with infectious keratitis at a tertiary eye hospital in rural India. Older age, bacterial and polymicrobial infections, and anatomical features such as large epithelial defects, deep stromal involvement, endothelial plaques, central infiltrates, and hypopyon were key predictors of poor visual acuity (≤20/200). The findings emphasize that anatomical characteristics are crucial for identifying eyes at risk for severe vision loss.
