A recent study examined the risk of fractures in Korean thyroid cancer patients who experienced postoperative hypoparathyroidism (PO‐hypoPT) after total thyroidectomy. The study found that the risk of any fractures, particularly vertebral fractures, was significantly lower in the PO‐hypoPT group compared to patients with preserved parathyroid function. The study suggests that managing PO‐hypoPT with active vitamin D and calcium may help prevent skeletal health issues in thyroid cancer patients.
