Rivaroxaban Outperforms Dabigatran and Warfarin Post-LAAC

This study aimed to investigate optimal anticoagulation strategies post-left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) to reduce device-related thrombosis (DRT) and thromboembolism (TE) without increasing bleeding risks. Participants treated with rivaroxaban (15 mg daily), dabigatran (110 mg twice daily), or warfarin for 45 days showed that rivaroxaban had significantly lower DRT incidence and smaller DRT dimensions. It also reduced the 12-month incidence of TE compared to the other groups, without increasing bleeding events.
