The study investigated the role of Ring Finger Protein 125 (RNF125) in the proliferation and metastasis of Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The researchers found that RNF125 was downregulated in HCC tumour tissues and its overexpression inhibited HCC proliferation and metastasis both in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, RNF125 accelerated the proteasome-mediated degradation of SRSF1, which impeded HCC progression by inhibiting the ERK signalling pathway. RNF125 was also found to be the downstream target of miR-103a-3p. These findings suggest that RNF125 is a promising treatment target for HCC.
