Sacituzumab govitecan in hormone receptor-positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative metastatic breast cancer

In the phase 3 TROPiCS-02 trial, sacituzumab govitecan, a promising treatment for pretreated, endocrine-resistant hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer, showcased substantial progress. Compared to chemotherapy, sacituzumab govitecan demonstrated a median overall survival of 14.4 months versus 11.2 months, signifying a significant 3.2-month improvement. The treatment's efficacy was consistent across various patient subgroups. Additionally, sacituzumab govitecan exhibited superior objective response rates, prolonged global health status, quality of life, and delayed fatigue onset. The treatment's safety profile was manageable, making it a promising option for this patient population.
