This study assessed the validity of resting seismocardiography (SCG eV̇O2peak) to estimate cardiorespiratory fitness in overweight and obese individuals before and after a 14-week lifestyle intervention. SCG showed strong agreement with the gold standard V̇O2peak test (r=0.78, SEE=5.0 ml·min–1·kg–1) and detected group-level changes in fitness. However, individual changes depended on body mass. Despite accuracy, variability in LoA and SEE limits SCG’s broader applicability.
