A crucial aspect of perinatal care involves recognizing and addressing the psychological needs of pregnant women. This study, encompassing 178 participants, utilized validated tools to assess depressive symptoms and stress during routine prenatal evaluations. Findings indicate associations between elevated stress and depression levels with factors like younger maternal age, obstetrical history, and abortion. The proposed screening protocol advocates for proactive mental health assessments, aiming to detect early signs of distress in vulnerable perinatal populations, facilitating timely intervention and preventive measures.
