This study evaluates the use of two SpA screening tools (DETAIL and IBIS-Q) in identifying undiagnosed spondyloarthritis (SpA) in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Among 669 patients, 41% screened positive for SpA, with many having undiagnosed SpA despite not consulting a rheumatologist. The IBIS-Q outperformed DETAIL in identifying potential SpA cases. The findings highlight the need for prioritizing rheumatology consultations for IBD patients with SpA symptoms.
