In the randomized trial (NCT05870774), 32 patients received either subepithelial connective tissue grafts (SCTG) or a collagen matrix (VXCM) to augment buccal soft tissue. At 3 months, VXCM achieved greater soft tissue gain (1.77 mm vs. 1.26 mm, p = 0.0003), but SCTG outperformed at 6 months (1.43 mm vs. 1.11 mm, p = 0.0459). PROMs favored VXCM, while SCTG yielded superior aesthetics.
