A recent study assessed the effectiveness of seralutinib in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) who were already on standard background therapy. Out of 151 patients screened, 86 adults on PAH background therapy were randomly assigned to receive either seralutinib or a placebo. The seralutinib group showed a significant reduction in pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) compared to the placebo group. Specifically, the change in PVR from baseline to week 24 was -74.9 dyne·s/cm5 in the seralutinib group versus 21.2 dyne·s/cm5 in the placebo group. This indicates that inhaled seralutinib is effective in reducing PVR in PAH patients already receiving background therapy.
