A multicentre prospective cohort study examined the correlation between fatty acid-binding protein-3 (FABP-3) levels and renal dysfunction in chronic coronary syndrome patients. Over a 35.9-month follow-up, higher FABP-3 levels were significantly associated with >25% and >50% eGFR reduction. Multivariate Cox regression analysis supported FABP-3 as a potential biomarker for predicting renal decline in chronic coronary syndrome patients.
