This study explores the impact of sex differences on cardiac biomarker release after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Analyzing 3687 patients, it reveals lower troponin levels in women post-CABG and establishes sex-specific thresholds for high-sensitivity troponin and creatine kinase-MB to predict 30-day major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and mortality. Women missed by a general threshold faced higher MACE or death risks. The findings emphasize the need for sex-specific diagnostic cut-offs to enhance outcomes for women undergoing CABG.
