Sex‐specific differences in myocardial injury incidence after COVID‐19 mRNA‐1273 Booster Vaccination

A study examined 777 hospital employees receiving mRNA-1273 boosters. 5.1% showed elevated cardiac troponin T on day 3, and 2.8% had vaccine-associated myocardial injury. Women had higher rates (3.7%) than men (0.8%). Hs-cTnT elevations were temporary, and no major cardiac events occurred within 30 days. Compared to controls, hs-cTnT concentrations were higher in the booster cohort. Mechanism exploration found lower IFN-λ1(IL-29) and GM-CSF levels in cases.
